About Scott Padgett
Scott Padgett has had a successful career in basketball, starting with his time on a star-studded Kentucky roster in college. Padgett helped the Wildcats to an NCAA runner-up finish in 1997 and they won the championship in 1998. As a senior, UK lost in the Regional Final of the NCAA Tournament, but he was named an All-SEC First-Team performer and MVP of the SEC Tournament. The Utah Jazz subsequently selected Padgett in the first round of the 1999 NBA Draft. He played nine years in the NBA for four different franchises.
Padgett began his coaching career as an assistant back at Kentucky in 2009 before taking assistant jobs at Manhattan and Samford. In 2014, he became head coach at Samford and led the Bulldogs for six seasons. Padgett has since had assistant coaching jobs at New Mexico and Manhattan.
