About Scott Johnson
Scott Johnson was one of the big names on the US National gymnastics team during the 1980’s. During his prime he won three National Championships and won the All-Around championship at the 1987 Pan Am Games. During those games he set the all-around scoring record with an overall score of 116.25. He’d go on to become the first gymnast in Pan Am Games history to win medals on every event. Despite being one of the top international competitors he maintained his amateur status so that he could compete at the University of Nebraska. While competing for the Corn Huskers he earned All-American honors 11 times. Before he retired in 1988 he competed at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, which made him one of very few US gymnasts to compete in two Olympics during his career. Currently he owns and operates his own gymnastics school where he trains the next generation of Olympic athletes.
