About Scott Hamilton
Scott Hamilton is one of the most decorated men’s figure skaters in USA history. At the 1984 Sarajevo Olympic Games he became an American hero after capturing gold in the men’s singles event, and also won four consecutive World Championships from 1981 to 1984. Hamilton is the pride of Bowling Green, Ohio and attended Bowling Green State University while competing, placing education at the top of his priority list. During his career he competed in two Olympic Games in 1980 and 1984 and had the honor of carrying the American Flag into the arena at the 1980 Olympic Games opening ceremony. While competing on the international stage he traveled the country with the Ice Capades and also entertained millions on the Scott Hamilton American Tour that was later renamed Stars on Ice. In 1990 Hamilton was honored with induction into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors for the Special Olympics International.
