About Sarah Walker
At the age of 10, Sarah Walker decided she was sick of sitting back and watching her brother compete in BMX competitions so she jumped on a bike and began competing herself. Hailing from New Zealand, Walker began competing on an international stage in 2006 on the UCI circuit, and in 2008 she won 7 races and worked her way up to a #1 ranking in the World. She began her Olympic career at the 2008 Games, finishing in 4th at the event and followed it up with a silver medal finish in the 2012 London Games. Walker continued to succeed around the world in the BMX circuit, bringing home several World Championships.
