About Courtney Kupets Carter
Courtney Kupets is a former American gymnast born in 1986 in Bedford, Texas. As a member of the World Artistic Gymnastics and U.S. national team, Kupets has earned an extremely impressive total of eighteen gold medals throughout her career. Kupets grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with a discipline so strong that she was training 35 hours a week at Hill’s Gymnastics while in school for years and years. She competed in her first U.S. National Championships at the age of thirteen. It was there that she placed eighth and became a member of the national team. Kupets went on to compete at the 2002 and 2003 World Championships, 2004 Olympic Games, 2003 and 2004 U.S. Senior Nationals and at the NCAA Championships from 2006 to 2009. Kupets also competed on the Georgia Gymdogs gymnastic team at the University of Georgia, where she attended college from 2005-2009. She served as a student assistant coach rather than competing during her last year at UGA. Kupets admirably retired from the sport after giving years and years of dedication to it and ultimately being named the top female college athlete in 2009 with the Honda-Broderick Cup. Her life has officially come full circle as she currently serves as the head coach at her alma mater.
