About Sanya Richards-Ross
Sanya Richards-Ross is a very well distinguished competitor for the United States in track in field. As a Jamaican native, Richards-Ross was born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1985 and moved to the United States at a very young age. She went on to become an academic and athletic scholar in high school, graduating from a high school in Ft. Lauderdale with a 4.0 GPA and the title of the National High School Female Athlete of the Year. She went on to attend the Univeristy of Texas and won the NCAA National Championship in the 400 meter race as a freshman. After her sophomore year of college, Richards-Ross debuted professionally and has been competing for the United States ever since. She is a ten-time Olympic gold medalist, having obtained her first one in 2003 at the World Championships in Paris and her most recent ones in 2012 at the Olympic Games in London and at the world Indoor Championships in Istanbul, Turkey. Richards-Ross also promotes healthy and nutritious lifestyles as she has been a spokesperson for the world’s leading brand of vitamin, mineral and dietary supplements, Nutrilite. She has also starred in Footlocker commercials and continues to serve as a tremendous role model and strong competitor representing our country.
