About Sam Hornish Jr.
Samuel Jon Hornish, Jr., is a very well established professional racecar driver. Hornish was born in Bryan, Ohio in 1979 and commenced his interest in racing at age 11 by testing out the waters in old go-karts. He began competing in junior leagues throughout his early years and eventually joined the World Karting Association in 1993. His racing career got a fast start as he went on to earn 7 wins and 29 top-5 finishes by the end of his first year. By 1996, Hornish began to compete in the U.S. F2000 National Championship and the Atlantic Championship by 1999. In the 2000’s, he spent the first seven years competing in the Verizon IndyCar Series and clinched several champion titles, becoming a three-time champion in 2001, 2002 and 2006. Hornish also became the 2004 Most Popular Driver in the Verizon IndyCar Series. He has since been competing for NASCAR, in both the Xfinity Series and the Sprint Cup Series. Over the past eight years, he has competed in over 235 races between the two series and placed second in the Xfinity Series in 2013. Hornish has been developed into a video game player for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC while he continues to influence and impress racecar fans and drivers nationwide.
