About Ryan Silverfield
Ryan Silverfield is the head football coach at the University of Arkansas. Silverfield built a reputation as one of the better coaches in the country while going 50-25 at Memphis from 2019-25.
Silverfield was promoted to the top job after serving on the most successful coaching staff in Tigers history. He originally joined the program in 2016 as offensive line coach. Silverfield was part of the staff that won three straight American Athletic Conference West Division titles. He added the title of deputy head coach in 2019 and the program captured their first conference championship since 1969.
Silverfield has a mixed background of experience on the collegiate and NFL levels. He actually began his career at his alma mater, The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. While attending college at Hampden-Sydney College, he coached for four seasons.
After graduation, he returned to Jacksonville to serve as the head coach at Memorial High School in 2004 and quarterbacks coach at Jacksonville University in 2005. Silverfield got his first Division 1 coaching opportunity as a graduate assistant at UCF from 2006-07. He went on to spent six years on the Minnesota Vikings staff before coming back to coach in college at Toledo in 2014.
