Ryan Dempster began his career with the Florida Marlins in 1998 and spent two years in Cincinnati before becoming a mainstay in the Chicago Cubs rotation from 2004 to 2012.During the2003 season, Dempsterunderwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow and made a miraculous recovery from the surgery.After being traded to the Rangers in 2012 and winning a World Series in 2013 with the Boston Red Sox he decided to hang up his cleats and enjoy retirement with his family.
