About Rudy Fernandez
Rudy Fernandez is a professional basketball player from Spain who currently plays for Real Madrid in Liga ACB in Spain. Fernandez first played professionally for DKV Joventut in 2002 and stayed with the team thru 2008. With DKV, Fernandez won 5 championships throughout his 6 seasons, winning the 2006 FIBA Europe Player of the Year award. His DKV contract was bought out in 2008 when he was drafted by the Portland Trailblazers. He spent 3 seasons with the Blazers, being selected to the NBA All-Rookie Second-Team and being voted into the Slam Dunk Contest of the 2009 All-Star Weekend. Fernandez played for part of a season with the Denver Nuggets before leaving the NBA to sign a contract with Real Madrid. Fernandez has also been a member of the Spanish National Team since 2006 when the team won the gold medal at the FIBA World Cup; he has also won 2 silver Olympic medals as a member of Team Spain.
