About Rocket Ismail
Rocket Ismail is a former professional football player in both the Canadian Football League and the National Football League. He played for the University of Notre Dame where he was a receiver. In the 1990 season Ismail placed second in the voting for the Heisman Trophy. From Notre Dame Ismail signed a contract with the Canadian Football League for the Toronto Argonauts in 1991, were he was named the Grey Cup Most Valuable Player when the Argonauts won the Grey Cup in a 36-21 victory over the Calgary Stampeders. Ismail started his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders. Following the 1995 season Ismail was traded to the Carolina Panthers for a fifth-round pick. In 1999 Ismail signed with the Dallas Cowboys when he was a free agent. Rocket recorded a career-high of 1,097 yards and six touchdowns in 1999. Ismail played his last season as a professional football player in 2001 with the Cowboys. After professional football Ismail has appeared on many TV broadcasts including ESPN's "College Game Day."
