About Robin Yount
Robin Yount is a retired Major League Baseball player who played his entire career with the Milwaukee Brewers. Yount attended William Howard Taft High School, and then went on to enter the 1973 Major League Baseball Draft, and was picked third overall. He was in the majors the following April at only 18 years of age, and became the last player to hit a home run in the majors at the age of 18. He spent 20 years with the Milwaukee club until he retired from playing the game in 1993. During his great career Yount was a three time All-Star, a two time AL MVP, a three time Silver Slugger Award winner, and won the Gold Glove Award in 1982. In 1994 the Milwaukee Brewers retired Yount's number 19 and later in 1999, Robin was inducted as a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He went on to become a coach after playing baseball, becoming a first base coach and bench coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2002. Robin Yount is now acting as a special instructor in spring training for the Brewers.
