About Mike Mussina
Mike Mussina pitched in the big leagues for 17 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees from 1991 to 2008. During that time he earned five All-Star selections, seven Gold Glove Awards and led the American League in wins in 1995. Mussina got his start in pro ball after being selected in the 1st round of the 19990 MLB Draft with the 20th overall pick by the Baltimore Orioles out of Stanford University. In 1991 he made his MLB Debut with the Orioles and posted a sparkling 2.87 ERA in 12 starts. He’d go on to finish fourth in the AL Cy Young Award voting the following year after posting an 18-5 record with a 2.54 ERA in 32 starts. Mussina would go on to pitch 10 years with the Orioles and win 147 games while posting a 3.53 ERA in 288 career starts. He finished his career with the Yankees, winning 123 more games and posting a 3.88 ERA in 248 more starts. He finished his career with 270 wins and an incredibly consistent 3.68 ERA in 536 career starts. Known as “Moose” by the fans, he was inducted into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame in 2012.
