Roberto Carlos

Roberto Carlos is one of the greatest left backs and Brazilian soccer players of all-time. In 2004, Carlos was named to the FIFA 100 that celebrated the greatest living players. He was also named to the FIFA World Cup Dream Team in 2002. That year, Carlos was a FIFA World Cup All-Star for the second time. He competed for Brazil in three World Cups, helping them make the final in 1998 and win the tournament in 2002. Carlos may have been at his competitive best in 1997 when he finished runner-up in FIFA World Player of the Year voting. On the club side, he originally joined Real Madrid in 1996 and spent 11 seasons there. Carlos had great success, winning four La Liga titles and the UEFA Champions League on three occasions. He played in nearly 600 matches for Real and scored 71 goals. In retirement, Carlos became a manager. He currently heads up the Indian Super League squad, Delhi Dynamos.
