Rich Cho is the former general manager of the Charlotte Hornets and the first Asian-American GM in NBA history. He was hired by the Hornets in 2011. Chin originally became a general manager with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2010. He spent ten season as the assistant general manager for the Seattle Sonics/Oklahoma City Thunder. Cho got his start with the Sonics as an intern in 1995. He became the franchise's director of basketball affairs in 1998 before being promoted to his current position. Before getting into basketball, Cho worked as an engineer at Boeing from 1989-94. He holds an engineering degree from Washington State University and also graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law. With his legal background, Cho was the Sonics vice president of legal for three years in addition to his assistant GM duties.
