About R.C. Buford
R.C. Buford is the general manager for the San Antonio Spurs. He has been with the organization since joining Larry Brown's staff as an assistant in 1988. After spending five seasons as an assistant, he went onto positions with the Los Angeles Clippers and at the University of Florida. Buford returned to serve as the Spurs' head scout in 1994. He was promoted to Director of Scouting in 1997 and then vice president/assistant general manager two years later. Overall, Buford has won five NBA championships in San Antonio, four of them coming under his watch as general manager. He holds the additional title of president of sports franchises for Spurs Sports & Entertainment. Buford has been named NBA Executive of the Year in 2014 and 2016.
