About Raymond Floyd
Raymond Floyd is a professional golfer who has played on both the PGA and Champions Tour. Despite getting an offer to pitch in the major leagues, Floyd decided to attend college. After attending for a semester he decided to quit school and turn professional in golf. He quickly established himself on the PGA Tour where his first win came in his third year, his first of 22 total wins on the PGA Tour including four major championships. He was won the Masters Tournament, the U.S. Open, and the PGA Championship. By the end of 1992, Raymond was ranked number 14 on the Official World Golf Ranking at the age of 50, one of the highest rankings of a player of that age. For his success on the course Raymond has been honored with the Vardon Trophy, the Byron Nelson Award as well as being inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame as part of the 1989 class.
