Gary Player

Gary Player is a professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. Player played his first round of golf at 14 years old and he parred his first three holes. He announced that he would become number one in the world at 16. The following year, Player became a professional. Player played on the PGA Tour regularly in the 1950s. In 1961, Player led the money list and he accumulated 24 career titles. Player is the only player in the 20th century to win the British Open in three different decades. In 1974, he became one of the few golfers in history to win two major championships in the same season. Player is one of the most successful golfers in the history of the sport. Player ranks third in total professional wins with at least 166 and he is tied for fourth in major victories with 9. Player was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974. c
