Ray Knight is known for many things in Major League Baseball. He is the man that replaced Pete Rose at third base for the Reds, and he is the one that scored the winning run in game six of the 1986 World Series for the Mets. Knight made his debut in 1974 with the Reds and later played for the Houston Astros, New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, and Detroit Tigers. In his 14 year career, he had a career batting average of .271, a total of 1,311 hits, and 595 runs batted in. Those numbers contributed to Knight becoming a two time All-Star, a World Series Champion and MVP in 1986, as well as the NL Comeback Player of the Year in the same season. Upon retiring, Ray became a broadcaster for ESPN and later became a coach with the Reds and eventually succeeded Davey Johnson as the team's manager.
