About Ray Giacoletti
After playing the game of basketball at Minot State University in North Dakota, Ray Giacoletti became a coach. His career began as a graduate assistant for both his alma mater and at Western Illinois. These few years were years that Ray could learn and build his resume as a coach. After about a decade of being an assistant Ray accomplished a major milestone. He became a head coach for the first time for North Dakota State in 1997. He led the team to an 18-9 record in his first season, and after his third season with the program he led the team to an overall 48-33 record. The best years of his career to date came when Ray was coaching at the University of Utah where he led the team to a Big Sky Tournament Championship, The Mountain West Tournament championship, as well as regular season championships in 2004 and 2005.
