About Rajon Rondo
Before his success in the NBA began, Rajon Rondo played basketball at the high school and college level with great success. He played for the University of Kentucky where he was a part of the top-rated recruiting class of 2004 leading him to be named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. His average of 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game led him to become the 21st overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. During his nine seasons with the Boston Celtics, he was a four-time All-Star and a four-time member of the All-Defensive Team. Rondo also led the NBA in assists three times and steals once. He most notably won a championship with the team in 2008. Rondo has played for several other franchises since leaving the Celtics, including winning a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. He subsequently joined the Atlanta Hawks before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. After the season, Rondo rejoined the Lakers, but was traded at the deadline to the Cleveland Cavaliers to provide veteran leadership for the resurgent team.
