Priscilla Frederick Loomis

The life of Priscilla Frederick Loomis includes achievements in track and field as well as motivational speaking and entrepreneurship and philanthropy. Born in Queens, New York, she grew up in Sicklerville, New Jersey before finding her athletic passion during her senior year at Paul VI High School. Her initial goal was to enter entertainment but she chose to pursue track and field after securing a full scholarship to study at St. John's University in New York City. She excelled as a high jumper at St. John's University by establishing multiple school records while becoming an All-American athlete. She qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials to finish seventh in the high jump competition. After taking a one-year break in 2013 she obtained dual citizenship from Antigua and Barbuda through her father's birth origins. She competed for Antigua and Barbuda while becoming the country's national high jump record holder and taking part in Commonwealth Games competitions. In 2015 she secured a silver medal at the Pan American Games while receiving the title of National Female Athlete of the Year. She competed at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games where she finished 28th in the high jump. She received induction into the St. John's University Athletics Hall of Fame during 2022.

The 2021 retirement of Loomis from athletics led her to establish Priscilla Loomis LLC which delivers motivational Olympic-inspired messages to help people manage their everyday lives. She works with education institutions and corporate organizations to deliver programs about overcoming challenges and health promotion as well as empowerment and personal development. The New York Times alongside CNN BBC ESPN and National Geographic have all featured Loomis while she partners with Airbnb and PUMA and the University of Pennsylvania.

Through the Priscilla E. Frederick Foundation she founded the organization supports single-parent families by providing scholarships together with grants and empowerment workshops. Her foundation works to improve underprivileged areas while teaching community members about resilience and self-love.
