Jessica Ennis-Hill

Jessica Ennis-Hill is a native of Sheffield, England, and competed in Heptathlon and Pentathlon. She became interested in athletics at a young age and won the AAA Girls title in the high jump in 2000 at the age of 13. Three years later she captured the indoor pentathlon title and outdoor 100-meter hurdles title at the AAA Under 20 Championships in 2003. She’d go on to compete in the 2003 and 2004 World Youth Championships, finishing 5th and 8th respectively after leading both competitions after the first day. In 2004 she headed to the Commonwealth Youth Games and won two silver medals in the 100-meter hurdles and high jump. She followed that up with a win in the heptathlon at the 2005 European Athletics Junior Championships. At the 2006 Commonwealth games she won bronze in the heptathlon, and went on to win gold in the heptathlon at the 2009 World Championships, 2010 European Championships, and 2012 London Olympic Games. She also added a gold medal and a silver medal in the Pentathlon at the 2010 and 2012 World Indoor Championships respectively. In 2016, Ennis-Hill returned to the Olympic stage to win a bronze medal. Ennis-Hill is a national hero in Great Britain, and rightfully so, having represented her country with honor and distinction both on and off the track.
