About Paul Stankowski
Paul Stankowski is a professional golfer, currently competing on the PGA Tour as well as the Web.comTour. Prior to turningprofessional, Stankowski played collegiately at the University of Texas at El Pasobefore turning professional in 1991. Initiallyplaying on the Nationwide Tour, his only victory came at the1996 NIKE Louisiana Open. One week later, Stankowskicompeted at the BellSouth Classic on the PGATour and won, becoming the first and only golfer to win a Nationwideevent and a PGA Tour event onback to back weekends. In 1997, Stankowski won the United Airlines Hawaiian Open,and also recordedhis best finish in a Major Championship with a fifth place at the Masters. Unfortunately, injuries begantoplague Stankowski in 1998, resulting in a long losing streak that would last until 2001. Although hestill playsoccasionallyon the PGA Tour, Stankowski now mainly works with the Fellowship of ChristianAthletes, hosting the FCA Golf Scramble in El Paso every year.
