Patrick McEnroe

Patrick McEnroe has had his entire life associated with the sport of tennis. McEnroe began his playing career in the shadow of his older brother, the legendary John McEnroe. He would prove his own merits as a player, winning one singles title and 16 doubles titles. McEnroe most notably won a doubles championship at the 1989 French Open. He reached a career high of 28th in the world in singles play and third in the world in doubles play. McEnroe retired as a professional in 1998. He was well-known for his association with the Davis Cup as well. From 2000-2010, he became the longest-tenured captain in U.S. Davis Cup history. McEnroe also was the captain of the U.S. tennis team at the 2004 Olympics. He further helped the growth of the sport during a six-year tenure as the General Manager of USTA Player Development. Throughout the years, he has remained a popular broadcaster, beginning with ESPN and CBS Sports while he was still playing. He still works major tournaments for ESPN today.
