About Patrick Maroon
Patrick Maroon, nicknamed "Big Rig" or "Patty," is a retired ice hockey left winger who played 14 seasons in the NHL. Drafted 161st overall (6th round) by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2007, he made his NHL debut with the Anaheim Ducks in 2011–12. Known for his physical, gritty style, Maroon played for the Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, St. Louis Blues (where he won his first Stanley Cup), Tampa Bay Lightning (back-to-back Cups in 2020 and 2021), Minnesota Wild, Boston Bruins, and Chicago Blackhawks. He retired in March 2025 after 848 career games, tallying 126 goals, 197 assists (323 points), and 1,087 penalty minutes. Post-retirement, he joined the Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL) as an assistant coach and has appeared as an analyst at events such as the 2026 NHL Stadium Series puck drop.
