About Pat Day
Pat Day is a former horse jockey, competing for over twenty years. Day had a legendary career, amassing 8,803 total victories, as well as nine Triple Crown Victories. Day competed in the Kentucky Derby 21 times, winning the event once in 1992. He is known for his gentle and laid back riding style, as he does not push the horse more than he should, something that fans claim makes him so successful. His success over the years has earned him a plethora of awards, including the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Jockeys, the Mike Venezia Memorial Award, and many United States championships. Day has jockeyed several famous horses, with his favorite being reported as Easy Goer, which is known as one of the top race horses of our generation. Day announced his retirement in 2005 after a hip injury forced him to miss the Kentucky Derby for the first time, and he now devotes his life to spreading the gospel and spending time with his family.
