About Norman Chad
Norman Chad is a sportswriter and syndicated columnist who is seen on the sports channel ESPN. Chad writes a weekly sports-based column called The Couch Slouch. Chad’s biggest shtick in sports writing and poker commentary is his frequent references to his ‘failed marriages.’ Chad is noted for his strong dislike of what he calls “showboating in poker.” His poker commentary often includes terms such as ‘squadoosh’ and ‘whamboozled.” Chad has appeared on most of ESPN’s poker broadcasts, including the World Series of Poker and The United States Poker Championship, among other events since 2003. Chad has participated in 30 World Series of Poker events himself since becoming ESPN’s poker analyst. Chad made NFL predictions against the spread in his syndicated column for 11 years by flipping a coin to pick the winners. Chad wrote a book called Hold On, Honey, I’ll Take You to the Hospital at Halftime in 1993.
