About Muffy Davis
Muffy Davis is a paralympic athlete competing in several different events. At the young age of 16 Muffy was an active teenager, but a skiing accident left her paralyzed from the chest down. That event did not get her down, and she continued to compete and also persevered to graduate from Stanford in 1995. Her Paralympic career began in 1998 when she won her first medal, a bronze in the women's hand cycling. From then until now Muffy has competed in numerous events and had great success, including 4 silver medals in hand cycling, as well as 6 gold medals in various events including skiing and hand cycling. Davis also has the distinction of being the first female paraplegic to climb to a peak over 14,000 feet when she along with four other disabled climbers reached the summit of Mount Shasta in California in 2002 in a specially designed hand cranked tracked snowmobile.
