About Mike McCarthy
Mike McCarthy is the pride of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and played tight end at Baker University in Baldwin Country, Kansas before joining the Fort Hays State coaching staff as a graduate assistant in 1987. In 1989 he returned home to coach quarterbacks at the University of Pittsburgh and also coached wide receivers before heading to the Kansas City Chiefs as their offensive quality control assistant in 1993. In 1995 he was hired as the quarterback’s coach in Kansas City and went on to serve in that same role with the Green Bay Packers in 1999. After a four-year stint as the offensive coordinator with the New Orleans Saints from 2000 to 2004 he spent one year with the San Francisco 49ers before landing the head-coaching job with the Green Bay Packers in 2006. He led them to five NFC North Division Championships and a Super Bowl title in 2010. McCarthy left the Packers after the 2018 season but was hired by the Dallas Cowboys prior to the start of the 2020 campaign.
