About Mike Hazen
Mike Hazen is the executive vice president and general manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was hired from the Boston Red Sox following the 2016 season and immediately made the Diamondbacks competitive. Hazen worked for the Red Sox for 11 seasons. He was hired in 2006 as the director of player development. Hazen was promoted to vice president and assistant general manager in 2012. He was named general manager under Dave Dombrowski in 2015. During his one year as GM, the Red Sox won the American League East Division. Hazen originally grew up in Massachusetts before attending Princeton University. He played four years of baseball at the school and was drafted in the 31st round of the 1998 of the MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres.
