About Billy Beane
Billy Beane is the former Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and a current minority owner and senior advisor to the majority owner of the Oakland Athletics. He is one of the most revered front-office executives in baseball history and the subject of book and film, "Moneyball."
Beane served as EVP of Baseball Operations from 2015-2022 after holding the title of general manager of the A's since 1997. Beane has an over three-decade association with the organization since joining as a scout in 1990.
Despite the lower payroll that Oakland operated under, Beane was known for producing great results. From 2000-2004, the A's made the playoffs each year. They also made postseason appearances in 2006, 2012, and 2013.
Before jumping into baseball operations, Beane played for four major league teams over six seasons. He is now an expert keynote speaker when it comes to talking about building winning teams and using analytics to produce success in business.
