About Micky Arison
Micky Arison was born in Tel Aviv, Israel and made the move to the United States in college to attend the University of Miami. Arison is the son of Carnival Corporation co-founder, Ted Arison and has gone on to become the Chairman of his father’s corporation. Forbes magazine estimates Arison’s net worth to be north of $6 billion, which allows him to invest in a variety of other business and entrepreneurial ventures. One such business venture includes ownership in the NBA. Arison purchased the Miami Heat in 1995 and has since led the franchise to unprecedented heights as the team’s managing partner. During his 19 years as the owner of the Heat they have won three NBA titles and become one of the keynote franchises in the NBA. In 2005 Arison was named Chariman of the NBA Board of Governors and served in that role for three years. As one of the most respected owners in the league, he trusts his front office management and allows his players and coaching staff to foster the success of the program on a global scale.
