About Michael Waltrip
Michael Waltrip is one of the most accomplished individuals in the racing world. Waltrip is a two-time Daytona 500 winner and has been a driver for over 30 years in NASCAR. He still runs part-time despite his bevy of other interests involving NASCAR. As the co-owner of Michael Waltrip Racing, Waltrip oversees two cars that race in Sprint Cup. He also serves as an analyst for FOX’s NASCAR coverage. Between the Sprint, Xfinity, and Truck series, Waltrip has 16 wins as a driver. He has been racing in NASCAR’s top circuit since 1985, although he never won a race prior to the 2001 Daytona 500. His life has extended outside of the racing world as well. Waltrip was a contestant on the 19th season of Dancing with the Stars. His book, In the Blink of an Eye: Dale, Daytona, and the Day that Changed Everything, became a New York Times’ bestseller in 2011. Waltrip’s older brother Darrell was a three-time NASCAR champion and has also served as his broadcast partner.
