About Matt Turner
Matt Turner has an amazing rags-to-riches story in the sport of soccer. Turner did not even take up the sport until he was 14 and played at the lightly-known Fairfield University. He was not drafted into Major League Soccer, but rather signed with the New England Revolution in 2016. Turner became the team's starter two years later. He was a finalist for MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 2019 and 2020. Turner captured the MLS All-Star Game MVP trophy in 2021. He subsequently signed with Arsenal in the Premier League.
On the club side, Turner made his international debut for the U.S. Men's National Team in 2021. He was the team's starter for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Club and the 2022 World Cup.
