Matt Olson Biography

Matt Olson is one of the best first basemen in the game with the Atlanta Braves. He became respected on offense and defense while coming up with the Oakland Athletics. Olson originally debuted with the A's in 2016, but truly broke out in 2017. That year, he hit .259 with 24 home runs and 45 RBI in 59 games. In 2018, Olson stepped his game up another level, winning his first Gold Glove and hitting 29 home runs with 84 RBI. He repeated as a Gold Glove winner the following season and was named an All-Star in 2021. Oakland originally selected him in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft.
