Mat Hoffman

Mat Hoffman was born on January 9, 1972 and by the time he was 15 years old, Hoffman became the youngest rider to join the freestyle BMX circuit. Hoffman is considered one of the best vert ramp riders in the sport. In 1991, when he was just 19 years old, Hoffman reached the pro division and launched Hoffman Productions and Hoffman Bikes. In 1995, ESPN joined with Hoffman Productions to produce and televise the series each year. The Hoffman Productions created the Hoffman Sports Association, which is the organizing body for BMX Freestyle events worldwide; these include ESPN’s X Games and International X Games bicycle-stunt events. Hoffman and his team were chosen to participate in the closing ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. He has competed in the 2001 X Games where he brought home the bronze medal and in the 2002 X Games, he brought home the silver medal. Hoffman has appeared in multiple movies and he has produced video games.
