About Marty Hurney
Marty Hurney is the general manager of the Carolina Panthers. He was rehired in 2017 after serving in the same role for 11 seasons from 2002-2012. During his time away from the franchise, he worked as a radio host in Charlotte. Many of the current franchise cornerstones like Cam Newton and Luke Keuchly were selected by Hurney. During his second season as general manager, the Panthers reached their first Super Bowl. Hurney first joined the organization as the director of player operations in 1998. Prior to coming to Carolina, he was the assistant general manager for the San Diego Chargers. Hurney originally began his football career in the public relations department for the Washington Redskins.
