About Dan Morgan
Dan Morgan has an impressive career as a player and executive in football, that led to his current role as General Manager and President of Football Operations for the Carolina Panthers. Morgan was elevated to the position after serving as Panthers assistant general manager from 2021-23. He also worked in the front offices of the Seattle Seahawks upon retiring from his on-field career.
Morgan previously spent seven seasons with the Panthers at linebacker. Carolina originally selected him in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was voted to the PFW All-Rookie team after starting 11 games, recording 75 tackles, one sack, one interception, and one fumble recovery. In 2003, Morgan helped the Panthers win the NFC Championship, and he was voted to his first and only Pro Bowl in 2004. Morgan retired in 2008 due to lingering injuries, finishing his career with 390 tackles and seven sacks.
Morgan also left a football legacy at the University of Miami. In his four seasons at UM, Morgan was a multiple-time finalist for top linebacker awards, including the Dick Butkus Award, the Bronko Nagurski Award, and the Chuck Bednarik Award. In his senior season, Morgan solidified himself as the top collegiate linebacker in the country, winning all three awards along with Big East Defensive Player of the Year and an All-American nod. He was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.
