About Mike Minter
Mike Minter played nine seasons in the National Football League with the Carolina Panthers after a stellar prep career at Lawton High School in Lawton, Oklahoma and college career at the University of Nebraska. While at Nebraska he helped the Corn Huskers to two NCAA national Championships in 1994 and 1995 while also earning All-Big Eight honors in consecutive seasons. Minter was selected in the second round with the 56th overall pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 1997 NFL Draft. After earning the starting spot at safety during his rookie season he became a main stay in the Panthers back field for the remainder of his career. In 2006 he retired with 790 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 15 forced fumbles, 15 interceptions and 8 fumble recoveries while also scoring four defensive touchdowns. After his retirement he was hired as the new head coach at Campbell University in 2013.
