About Dave Gettleman
Dave Gettleman is the former General Manager of the New York Giants and the Carolina Panthers. Gettleman got his start in football as a teacher and coach at Spackenkill High School in New York and eventually became the head football coach where he led his team to two league titles. In 1979 he signed on as a volunteer coach at Long Beach State University and then coached at Kingston High School, where he led his team to a Section I Bowl appearance. In 1986 he made the leap to the NFL as an intern with the Buffalo Bills. Over the next seven years he worked his way up the organizational ladder before accepting a scouting job with the Denver Broncos in 1993. In 1998 he was hired by the New York Giants, who made him their Pro Personnel Director in 1999. He remained in that role until being promoted to Senior Pro Personnel Analyst in 2012. The following year he signed as the General Manager of the Carolina Panthers.
