About Joe Banner
Joe Banner grew up in Massachusetts and earned his degree in economics from Denison University in Ohio. After one year serving as a sports reporter and producer in Philadelphia he opened up a successful chain of clothing stores in Boston called Designer’s Clothing. Eventually he became the Co-Chairman of he Board for the Greater Philadelphia chapter of City Year. In 1994 he got his start in professional football when his friend purchased the Eagles and named him senior vice president. He’d go on to work his way up from senior vice president of administration to executive vice president from 1997 to 2010 and then became strategic advisor to the team owner in 2012. After the 2012 season Banner became part owner of the Cleveland Browns and was named CEO of the franchise. He’d remain in that position until being hired as a front office consultant with the Atlanta Falcons in 2014.
