Marion Bartoli

Marion Bartoli is a former professional tennis player originating from France. Introduced to the sport at the young age of six, Bartoli was coached by her father for the majority of her life. Bartoli’s father honorably retired from his career as a doctor, with essentially no tennis experience, to gain knowledge and experience on the sport and coach his daughter to the pros. Although born left-handed, Bartoli plays right-handed and is known for her impressive and eccentric playing style of using both hands on her forehand and backhand. Bartoli debuted professionally in February of 200 and although having been retired since August of 2013, holds a hefty amount of career titles. Some of these titles include eight WTA Tour Championships singles titles and three doubles titles. Bartoli has also competed and placed in the Fed Cup, Hopman Cup, Australian Open, French Open, U.S. Open, as well as the Wimbledon Championships. Throughout her professional career, she earned an impressive doubles record of 117-82 and an even more impressive singles record of 490-299.
