About Luis Figo
Luis Figo is one of the greatest soccer players of all-time. Figo won both the 2000 Ballon d’Or and the 2001 FIFA Player of the Year. In his career with Sporting CP, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Internazionale, he has an amazing record of team championships as well. Figo was on teams that won four La Liga titles, four Serie A titles, and a UEFA Champions League crown just to name a few. Not many players have suited up for both Barcelona and Real Madrid and his transfer fee between the two bitter rivals in 2000 set a world record. Figo’s international career was storied as well. He made 127 caps and led Portugal to their best World Cup finish since 1966 in 2006. After his career, he remained with Inter as an ambassador. He is also a bar owner in the Algarve region of Portugal. Figo is active in the fight against tuberculosis, working with Stop TB Partnership.
