Larry Laoretti

Larry Laoretti is an American golfer. Prior to his professional golfing career, Laoretti served in the U.S. Navy and after leaving the Navy, he worked as a club professional, winning no tournaments until he was past 50. 1960 is when Laoretti became a professional golfer. During his career, his best finish in a major was T-49 at the 1966 PGA Championship. In 1989, Laoretti won both the regular and senior Florida PGA Championships and in the following season, he joined the Senior PGA Tour. Laoretti won the U.S. Senior Open in 1992 and that would be his only win.. In 2007, Laoretti missed cut in the U.S. Senior Open and he T75th in Dick’s Sporting Goods Open. The next year, he was disqualified while playing in the U.S. Senior Open. He played in a total of 350 Championship Tour events. Throughout his entire professional career, Laoretti played golf with a cigar in his mouth
