Kyle Snyder Biography

In his young wrestling career, Kyle Snyder has already built up quite the resume.  At the 2016 Olympics, Snyder won gold in the 97 kg division. He became the youngest American wrestler at the age of 20 to win gold at the Olympics.  Snyder was also the 2015 World Champion in the weight class.  He wrestles collegiately for Ohio State University.  As a freshman, he finished runner-up at the NCAA Championships in the 197-pound division and helped the Buckeyes win the time title.  The next year, Snyder beat two-time defending national champion Nick Gwiazdowski to win the heavyweight title.  During his sophomore campaign, he sported a sterling 11-0 record.  Snyder had been no stranger to perfection, compiling a 179-0 mark during his first three high school seasons before forgoing his senior year to train with Team USA.
