About Kyle Okposo
Kyle Okposo is a retired NHL right winger who concluded his 17-year career with a Stanley Cup victory as a member of the Florida Panthers in 2024. Drafted seventh overall by the New York Islanders in 2006, Okposo played nine seasons with the Islanders and eight with the Buffalo Sabres, serving as team captain in Buffalo. He reached the 1,000-game milestone in 2023 before being traded to Florida, where he helped secure the franchise’s first championship.
Prior to his professional career, Okposo played collegiate hockey at the University of Minnesota, earning WCHA All-Rookie Team honors in 2007. The St. Paul native also represented the United States in multiple international tournaments. Known for his leadership and consistency, Okposo finished his NHL career with 614 points in 1,051 games.
