About Kevin Reilly
Kevin Reilly is a former NFL linebacker who played for the Philadelphia Eagles (1973–74) and the New England Patriots (1975). After a standout football career at Villanova, he was drafted in the 7th round of 1973 by the Miami Dolphins, but was cut before the season. He soon joined the Eagles, becoming their special teams captain, and later finished his NFL career with the Patriots, appearing in 25 games and recording one interception. In 1976, Reilly was diagnosed with a rare desmoid tumor. After three years of unsuccessful surgeries, a life-changing operation removed his left arm, shoulder, and five ribs, ultimately ending his football career. He went on to spend thirty years at Xerox, became a motivational speaker and author of “Tackling Life” (2017), and served as a broadcaster for Eagles pre- and postgame shows. Today, Reilly is regarded as an inspirational figure and a Delaware Sports Hall of Famer.
