About John Hannah
Hall of Famer John Hannah is considered by many to be the best offensive guard in NFL history. Hannah had a 13-year career spent entirely with the New England Patriots. The nine-time Pro Bowler and ten-time All-Pro has his jersey retired by the franchise. Hannah is a member of the NFL’s All-Decade team for both the 1970s and 1980s. The Patriots experienced great success during his tenure, recording seven winning seasons. In Hannah’s final season, the team won their first AFC title and reached Super Bowl XX. New England originally selected him fourth overall out of Alabama in the 1973 NFL Draft. Hannah was a two-time All-American for Bear Bryant and inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999. His father and two brothers also played offensive line at Alabama. Brother Charley played ten NFL seasons and Hannah’s father saw one year of action for the New York Giants. His autobiography, “Offensive Conduct: My Life On The Line”, came out in 2013.
