About Katrina Adams
Katrina Adamstennis career started when she just entered high school winning the Illinois High School Association Singles championship in 1983 and 1984. As an undergrad at Northwestern she continued to impress winning the NCAA doubles title in 1987. She was voted an All-American twice while playing for Northeastern. In 1988, Adams went pro at just 20 years old. In her doubles career she finished with 20 wins and 16 losses, 7 of those wins being with partner Zina Garrison up until 1996. A highlight of Adams’ career was at the 1988 Wimbledon Championships where she made it to the fourth round and loss a close one to Chris Evert. Adams has worked tirelessly in the tennis community since retirement. In 2003 she began commentating for the Tennis channel. Adams is also the Executive Director of the Harlem Junior Tennis and Education Program in New York City. She served as the Director at Large from 2005-2010 and is currently the first Vice President of the USTA as of 2011.
